Horans Health Store in Nenagh, Co Tipperary

This issue, store manager Majella O Donoghue, and staff members Tracy Devaney, Marlene McDonnell and Amanda Casey, test out their favourite health products. These include a magnesium blend, plant-based detergent pods, vitamin D3 and K2, a herbal tea, a natural antihistamine, a hydrating shampoo bar, omega fish oil and a shampoo and body wash.

A magnesium blend
Majella says: “Viridian High Potency Magnesium is part of my nighttime routine to ensure a good night’s sleep. Each capsule delivers 300.mg elemental magnesium, using a blend of magnesium oxide, magnesium citrate and magnesium bisglycinate, formulated for better bioavailability which supports energy production, muscle and nerve function, bone health and reduces fatigue. I am always happy to recommend to our customers.”

Plant-based detergent pods
Majella says: “I love using Ocean.Saver’s NonBio Laundry EcoCaps which are plant-based, phosphate-free, plastic-free detergent pods. They are ocean-friendly and safe for sensitive skin and I find they clean effectively leaving no residue. They are cruelty-free and vegan, which I love, and the packaging is easily recycled.”

Vitamin D3 and K2
Tracy says: “I am taking Irish brand Macanta’s D3 + K2 to support my bone and cardiovascular health. My diet means I am extra conscious of my calcium intake so one capsule per day ensures the dietary calcium I do eat is well utilised.”

A soothing herbal tea
Tracy says: “I love Goldenrod & Knotgrass Tea from A.Vogel. It is a very palatable herbal blend known to support the kidneys and reduce swelling. For me it soothes and supports my lymphatic system and quickly relieves discomfort.”

A natural antihistamine
Amanda says: “I wouldn’t be without Quercetin 500 from NaturesPlus Pro Range. It helps with my sinusitis and as a natural antihistamine it means I can breathe through my nose properly.”

Hydrating shampoo bar
Amanda says: “I love the Skoon solid bar range, especially the Hydrating Power shampoo bar. Before my hair was dry with scalp irritation but since switching, the condition of my curly hair and scalp has really improved. It feels so soft now.”

Omega fish oil
Marlene says: “I wanted my daughter to take some omega supplements since she is not much of a fish eater and she is actually taking Nordic Naturals Omega Fish Oil Junior every day without making a fuss. The strawberry-flavoured capsules are high in omega oil and can be swallowed or chewed, making it easier even for the small ones! I recommend it for children from the age of 5 and up!”

Shampoo and body wash
Marlene says: “Balmonds Natural Shampoo & Body Wash is a very gentle shampoo that leaves hair and skin really clean without the sensation of dryness! In fact it helps to soothe itchy skin and scalp and reduces flakiness visibly. It is perfect for daily use and very effective to deal with my eczema-prone skin.”

A healing serum
Aoife says: “I recommend Atlantik Trojan Healing Serum. As a whole, Atlantik is an amazing Irish skincare company harvesting the goodness from micro algae to heal a variety of skin complaints.”

Liposomal vitamin C
